Glue in a hybrid Kydex/Leather sheath?

I am making a hybrid sheath for a knife, and I have the leather wet formed to the kydex and it is ready for rivets. Should I glue the leather to the kydex or just use some sort of water proofing?

Thanks for any help.
 
It is really hard to glue leather to kydex. If you try to make sure to sand the inside of the kydex with a coarse sand paper to help it bond better. Leather will soak up a lot of the glue and cause a poor bond. You should try a few different glues on smaller pieces of kydex and leather and see which bonds best before you try the whole holster
