Test results!
The solvent test is done.
I sandblasted the test bar, then wiped with a clean cotton rag wetted with Brake Cleaner on one side and Lecto-motive on the other. Then allowed the solvents to dry without wiping off. No noticable performance difference between the two and no drop in holding power.
I can say that using brake cleaner or Lectro-motive is as good as freshly sandblasted. Unlike Simple Green that leaves something behind. I've heard that acetone can leave an oil behind. Because the brake cleaner is cheap and easy to apply, that's gonna have to be my solvent recommendatoin
The bar was left in the dishwasher for 2 weeks. The dishwasher testing provided interesting results:
You can see that rust developed after 2 weeks in the dishwasher. The worst was the urethane adhesive: U-05FL. There was some under the K&G but that was only one test with that stuff and possibly not mixed perfectly.
The U-05FL and K&G failed by hand.
The Acraglas Gel failed with 2 and 3 blows (there were 2 samples) with my impact tester. However there was no rust under the acraglas, that's good news for sure.
I attempted to knock off a piece of wood with the E-120HP to see if there is any rust. However, the wood completely disintegrated in the attempt. There's wood residue over the glue. I have to sand it all off, which means I can't tell if there's rust - which I doubt I'd find anyway.
The E-120HP is the winner once again.
