Just an idea I came up with today and I figured I'd ask. I knew that glycerin is super slick and I have some for shaving. But I was wondering, would it work as a lube for a knife pivot? Would it cause any problems?
Glycerin is water soluble and would probably attract and hold moisture in the pivot area. Not good. Plus, glycerin will thicken and "gunk up" as it ages, which is also not good for the pivot.
My recommendation is to save the glycerin for other, more "personal" lubrication applications.
