I love these two games each year when the Packers meet the Bears. No matter how good one team is and how poor the other, year after year these two games are always up for grabs. Truly a great rivalry.

Even better today were those brutal conditions that give these games their best flavor. Nothing better than a "frozen tundra" day for a bit of gridiron scrimmage amongst two of the original teams.

I'm happy for the Bears today, for they needed a lift.

Many years ago, watching that first day Brett came in the middle of the game, I had an intuition and turned to my wife and told her, "If he can control his wildness and manage not to get hurt, I bet this guy will be one of the great QBs." How I knew that I don't know. He's sure gone and done it, though, hasn't he? What a great season! And, hardcore as always, Brett hung in there the whole game today, a man's man.

I wish you Pack fans a great post season. I'd like nothing more than to see Brett guide his team to another Superbowl! Best of luck, Green Bay!

Merry Christmas to all.

I've know John Bonamego for a few years now he was with the GBP up to last year I think it was ( how time flys) and now he's with the Saints.

I really hate to admit this Mike...but when I heard that the Pack lost, I couldn't help but smile. I had a wierd feeling that the Bears wanted this one more for some reason, and were gonna get it done. I didn't get to watch the game, because I was snow-blowing myself and my neighbors out of a ton of the white stuff. Maybe it's better that way..for the blood pressure, I mean! :D Congrats to the Bears! -Matt-

With playoff home field advantage on the line, I would have expected the Packers to play like demons. After seeing how the cold was really getting to the old man Brett, I started wondering if maybe he would rather have a nice warm game in Dallas after all. :)

I think this game was extremely important to the Bears, though. In a dismal season, this was all about salvaging some pride to look ahead to next year. When Lovie Smith took the head coaching position he went out of his way in his welcome speech to say he realized that the two most important games to win each year were against Green Bay.

Not that it isn't just as much a matter of pride to GB, too. They just got too cold, I think. You can tell that though they play in WI, most of the players ain't like real Cheeseheads....way too many of 'em had on long sleeves.

Hell, I bet there was at least one carful of guys tailgating in the parking lot at Lambeau watching the game on their portable TV, no shirts on and painted with a big yellow GB on their chest, hunter orange stocking cap, beer in one hand and a brat in the other happier than hell it finally cooled off.

Now that's a for real Cheesehead, and rightfully proud of it.

Funny how something as trivial as being too cold can affect the outcome of a game like that! ;)

I have to say that I am not a for real cheesehead as you describe it, Mike. Too darn cold for those kinda shenanigans! I do love beer, brats, cheese, and the Pack though! -Matt-
