Membership, that is!

Lot of new faces(and quite a few old ones) that are not paying members, based upon the color of your "handle".

I would ask why? Membership on BladeForums is REALLY affordable, and this place offers so much for the $$(just being able to sell on BladeForums can pay for itself, an excellent benefit in it's own right).

Won't you consider joining?

We all enjoy custom knives or we wouldn't be here.
But the forums, the knife organizations, the knife magazines, the knife shows all help keep custom knives moving forward.
However they don't run for free. They survive on support from the community.
It's easy to just enjoy and figure the "others" are paying, however that's not a good long term plan to keep things progressing.
 
I just renewed my Platinum for the third time a couple of days ago. The extra advantages are well worth the small fee.......at least for me!

If you live, think, breathe knives like most of us here do, I cant see why everybody doesnt pay up. There are some real advantages for the small price it costs.
My big thing is people are afraid to use their real names. Thats fine if they are not knifemakers I suppose but even knifemakers sometimes dont want to be known.
 
Thanks for the warning about membership, just pay through PayPal. I wonder if I notify any moderator about payment or is done automatically.

I just upgraded my membership from gold to platinum around Xmas. I feel if your going to make Blade Forum your home/hangout why not. ;)

When you pay through PayPal, the payment does not go through automatically. Spark gets the notice, and manually upgrades your membership. Once he authorizes it, you have to go to your User CP and down on the left side to Group Memberships to click on your membership level for it to show up.
 
From Paid Subscriptions at the lower left of your User CP:

Gold Membership
Allows you to sell in the Exchange section, 100 private messages, a custom signature and a 100x100 avatar.

Platinum Member
Platinum Membership has it's rewards! Not only do you get all the benefits of a Gold Membership, but you also are able to change your own custom title, get 5mb of attachment storage, a 120x120 avatar and storage of 300 private messages.
 
Never mind just going Gold, how about Green and Red!! All you makers and dealers that take advantage of the free market place that Custom and Handmade has become, how about getting a membership!!

Good point, Win....it would stand to reason that those with the most to gain from financially would help support the community with more than words.

Minor correction, Makers are orange, Moderators are RED.:)

Worth every penny. I have gained some great friends and garnered much knowledge from the forum. Gotta pay to play, sure would be a drag to lose this connection we all have. Small price to pay for the return that comes in so many ways.

Really good to see this thread and it's intent. I hope the forum sees measurable results from it.
