Go to Williams-Sonoma.com now! Now, I said!

Looks like my roomate's knives are gonna get muscled out of the block... Heck, I'm gonna need a bigger block soon..

They don't seem to be on the Kerhsaw site yet, no press releases that I can find on the Shun pages yet either.

The pics on the Williams Sonoma site aren't nearly big enough. :(

Good way to bring the Grizzly Bear out of him. Is there such a thing as an English Grizzly Bear?

Pretty sure there are no English Grizzly Bears. :)

I think he just didn't like that particular damascus. There must be a nice stainless damascus out there that's available in large straight pieces.

The cladding on the Kajis and Shuns is actually a damascus pattern and not actually layered though, is it? (whatever it it is, it looks great!)

Go there, type "kaji" in the search engine, and try not to drool to death!

Yeah, sure - just when I had decided to ask my wife for the 10-slot kitchen cutlery block for Christmas, thombrogan comes in with this. Now I'm going to have to ask for the 22-slot block. ;)

Blame Williams-Sonoma! Blame them the old-fashioned way: make them write down your address and billing information and force them to load up a delivery truck with your knives. That'll show 'em!

Review of the Shun Kaji 8" Chefs Knife posted in the review section.

WOW!!! THAT IS ONE BEAUTIFUL KNIFE!

The pictures on Williams-Sonoma's web site really don't do it justice.

Thomas W, you really need to get them to put some better/bigger pictures up.

Thanks for the eye opening pic Thom!

The little paring SG2 makes the Blur in SG2 a real bargain...

A steel, block, and six Ka-niffs for $1200 on sale? Hmmm, 'The Thrift Store' opens soon... may just have go buy that cruddy block of 'Old Hickory' ka-niffs for the $5 tag on 'em...

I am sorry... I love knives... including my collection of Kershaw folders... and I am the cook here... but $1200 for six kitchen knives?? Really, just how much finer can you cut possum?

Stainz

Steel snobs rejoice! A kitchen knife in SG2! The last frontier is conquered! Somebody who can afford it, let me know how it goes. :(

Cutlery for the redneck gourmet is a totally untapped market. Are you listening, Thomas? :D

I use that chef knife for stuff my wifey insists should be done with smaller knives, so it might work with more rural or austere fair.

There have been other knives in SG-2 as well (Shun's Elite series and supposedly the 'powdered steel' knives from Ryusen and Tojiro) and all in the same general price range, only none are as immaculately crafted and stunning as the Kaji (though the Elite and Blazen are close).
