Goals to Achieve for 2010

Since 2010 will be here in a few hours (for us GMT -5 guys) and nobody has posted this yet, I think I'll start.

My goals to achieve within 2010 are:

Well being: Finish my weightloss goal. I have 15lbs to go. This includes maintaining a consistent, healthy paleo for athletes diet, running, and weight training. I'm already doing this; I just want to continue and improve.

Running Goal: 10 miles at 8 min/mile.

Road Marching Goal: 30 miles within 10 hours.

Why the running and road marching? March, 2011, Bataan Memorial Death March.

Knife Making Goal: By the end of 2010, I want my skill level and skill set to improve to the point where I cannot see blemishes and grind marks that I didn't intend to purposely make visible. I want my symmetry to be perfect.

Work Related Goal: I have three years to build my skill level to move into my boss's position. I want to be 1/3 of the way there.

I know these aren't totally W&SS goals, but most sort of are. Well being, physical fitness, the ability to travel distance over rough terrain, and knife making (essentially tool making, which is very W&SS) all play a part in the variety of areas we discuss and participate in here in W&SS.

Good luck in 2010 everyone.

Today is my birthday, so my primary goal is to live to see the next.

Quit smoking and get back to PT.

Spend much more time in the woods.

Complete my kit.

Improve myself in all areas of endeavor.

I am down with this thread!

Wulfsrhunting: I'd like a bit more detail on your paleo diet version, some other thread or email. Maybe it can go in the fitness thread that's coming up here.

My goals:

Okay, my goals are, and HAVE TO BE, limited right now, because this year is going to see a ton of changes, and not all the effects are going to be predictable.

I am going to do my best to see Sierra off to boot camp on March 30th, healthy, sane, and fit.

I am going to drop my body fat percentage from 20% to 10-14%. I've already dropped it from 33% or so! (that's BF%, not BMI, btw)

I have some fitness goals, since those are areas I have the most control over:

16KG|80 for the VO2max. (that means do 80 sets of 7 snatches with a 35 pound cannonball with 15 seconds of rest between each set)
manage a planche (elbow lever)
Manage a handstand pushup
Be able to do sets of 15 of one arm pushups and one legged squats.
make massive progress, not sure yet how much, on pullups (my weak point)
do 10 controlled, slow reps of full bridges.
run 1.5 miles in under 12 minutes.

I have goals for the shop, and for the family, but we just can't say what those are going to involve until we know where, how many, and what is moving, when. Moving is a goal this year, though.

my goals are as followed:

-hike/woodsbum/practice skill sets more
-hunt, kill, and dress a boar
-get into school and get straight A's
-get a job

if i can accomplish all of those i'll be a happy man! :)

In October, my BF% was 34% and I weighed 186lbs.
Before Christmas, my BF% was 29% and I weighed 166lbs.
Put a few pounds on over Christmas, and am back up to 173lbs now.

Goal is to be 10% BF and 145lbs.

Being unemployed, my goal is to get a good job again, or get into
school to work on my LPN nursing license.

I put on 4 lbs over the Thanksgiving-New Years holiday season. I'm so glad it's over so I can get my ass back in gear. My BF goal is 6%; I'm at 8% lower body, and 10-11% upper body.

My goals for 2010 are:

-get into better shape and do more cardio workouts
-get out more to hone my skills
-go fishing more
-go hiking more
-go camping more
-go hunting more

I'm with Doc!

Also, want to get my soon to be six year old up to 50+ trees/plants for ID and use. He is probably close to 20 now. Here he is carving a spoon (with my help) for his mom's Christmas gift.

I need to spend less time at work this year and more time in the woods and doing other things. It hit me like a ton and a half of cow turds a couple of weeks ago when work closed up for the winter that I have no life, I was always working. I looked back at my year and I only took two days off of work all year when I caught a real nasty cold, most of the rest of my time was spent in school. I will at very least take a vacation this summer and go hiking for a week.

Naw, you know what they say, the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree. I live in sandals down to freezing. That kid lives in flip flops or bare feet!
