I've always wanted to go to Goblin Valley. That's right. Been top of my desert list, along with the Bristlecone pine forest.

Good for you.

Well, I just got back! Thanks for the well wishes and that awesome pic! :D

Got to Goblin Valley State Park yesterday around 3, went looking for a campsite... There are 2 different ones we've used in the past. The roads leading up to both were flooded out. Went to Little Wild Horse Canyon, had lunch at the trail head then hiked it. Came back and found a campsite that was dry.... Tin foil dinners with Smores were good. Was soo nice out last night I put my air mattress on the ground and slept under the stars in a -20 rated sleeping bag. Soo warm and Comfy. But then at 4:00am it started raining so I got in the car and spent the rest of the morning there.

Breakfast was at the Pavilion At the edge of the Valley of Goblins. Yummy stuff.... Then a hike threw the valley, playing joking and general fun. After a few hours it started raining again so we headed back to the cars and came home.

The trip was a blast and well worth it. My 16.5" WWII came in handy digging a fire pit then splitting fire wood. Everyone was impressed and 3 to 4 people borrowed it after some safety lessons and did a little splitting too. Almost everyone there (Both guys and girls) had either a pocket knife or multitool of some kind. One of the guys brought his Western Hunting knife thats quite simmaler to the one I brought.

The wet stuff is unpacked and drying now. I think I'll hit the showers and clean up. There was sooo much mud!!! :D

You brought some pictures home with you, I hope? That wonderful place has been on my to do list for 15 years.

Yes Munk, I took pics the first day. But not the second day because of bad weather and the most importaint fact, I forgot to grab the camera as we entered the park. It got left in one of the cars back at camp. :o There are some pics of cute girls and the Little Wild Horse canyon though. Others were thinking and grabbed there cameras. Will try to round up pics from everyone soon.

Munk, you really should take your family down to Gobling Valley and Little Wild Horse Canyon. They are great places to visit. The Rock Scene from the movie Galaxy Quest was filmed in Goblin Valley.
