Goddard in plain edge?

I have been unable to find a Goddard or Baby Goddard in plain edge. Do they exist? I like the knife a lot, but in general I only like plain edges. The last Baby Goddard sprint run almost changed my mind, but it was because of the micarta scales. If anyone knows of any please let me know...

P.S.- I hope Spyderco uses more micarta to dress up their knifes a little...

I've only seen them with combo blades. I also generally prefer plain edges but I really like my Goddard and the serrations do come in handy at times.

The Goddard Jr. was made in PE as well as CE and SE. Both the black FRN and grey FRN versions of the full size Goddard were made in PE as well. Not easy finds, but they are out there and do show up on eBay and the Exchange occasionally.

Thanks, Deacon. The Goddard Jr. and the Baby Goddard with plain edge and micarta scales would make ideal EDC knives for me.

I passed on the white sprint Goddard because it was CE. I'm hoping any
future releases are plain edge. The CE just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Unfortunately for us, Wayne Goddard seems to love combo edge. :(

Oh no! Are you saying any future release will most likely be CE?
Well, in spite of the CE version of the grey FRN C16 Goddard being available long after the PE had sold out, the burgundy FRN C16 Goddard was CE only. It crawled off the shelves. Last year the white micarta C18 Goddard Jr. came out. It too was CE and more than a few dealers still have them in stock. Even after those two less than stellar performances, the burgundy micarta C20 arrived in, you guessed it, CE. Now, I don't have a crystal ball, and we can always hope Mr. Goddard will get the message, but I'm not inclined to hold my breath.

My understanding is that the C20s were supposed to be PE, but there was a mix up with the maker, and they delivered CE. Spyderco decided to ship the CE to dealers, rather than redoing them.

If they aren't going to be available in plain edge they're off my wanted list.
The Goddards look great in plain edge, what a shame.

Same goes for many, many more of us as well. Just because it's a great knife doesn't mean we're going to buy it if you try to force CE on us. You're not going to change the world like that.

On the one hand, I would much prefer to see all the Goddards in plain edge; I would snap them up in a heartbeat. On the other hand, I applaud Mr. Goddard for sticking to his guns. Hey, it's his design, and he has the right to see it made to his specifications. If he thinks it needs to remain CE, who are we to argue...?

Oh yeah - we're the people who buy knives. Well, maybe Sal can talk to him. :D

I have a full sized FRN black Goddard in plain edge and a full sized micarta Goddard fully serrated.
