Those are cool pics. I watched the launch on HDNet tv. Looked awesome in high definition at night.

Could you hear the launch from your house?
 
No, I couldn't hear it. But I must add that those pics don't do it a shred of justice. It really is an awesome spectacle.

This is the second night launch I've seen from here. The first was a rocket (not the space shuttle) and launched while I was out on the county pier (on the Atlantic Ocean) fishing. I hadn't seen the news of this launch and so it took me by surprise. I'm slightly embarrassed to remember my initial thoughts in the fraction of an instant before I realized that Cape Canaveral was right there... :D

It kinda makes the best fireworks shows look like child's play...
