Aloha.

I'm goin to Kansas for Christmas and wondered if any one knows what is legal to carry there in the way of folders. do they have an illegal blade length or anything? If I put on my jacket and ya can't see the clip is that gonna be a concealed deadly weapon or something like that? Mahalo for the help in advance.

If you are going to be in Wichita or Kansas City, you might check out the legal blade length limit. I think it is under four inches.

If you aren't causing any disturbance, especially if you aren't ina big city, you aren't going to be bothered. Most of Kansas is rural, and pretty laid back about knives. Wichita is probably the worst place for being anti-weapon.

I live in Salina and carry a gun in my truck, as unobtrusively as possible, and never get bothered. Acop stopped me late one night for a tail light out and didn't bat an eye when I told him I had my .357 beside me on the seat.

I know you asked about knives, but attitudes toward weapons in general are related.

Come on down! It's not as bad as you might think! Actually you shouldn't have any problems with whatever you want to carry.

Just watch out for all those farmers carrying those deadly pliers in those leather holders in case they need to cut some wire.

Wichita is not "un-friendly" either. (Spoken as a Retired Police Lt.) If you're in Wichita get in touch with me. . . . and bring me a Custom S Bolstered Acqua from Onion, and a small TNT from Mayo!

Yup, Kansas is allright. ;)
Anything past four inches might be pushing it.
But hey, don't do nothing to get in trouble and you will be allright. :D
