Being full time military can have its difficulties. Especially when it comes to being away from home, friends, customers, and the shop. As you read this I am either on my way, or already in an exotic part of the world where the best way to blend in, is to wear something khaki. Having said that, I am writing to let all of my customers and friends in the Knifemaking world know that I will be gone for the next 6 months on a TDY (Temporary Duty), with a projected return date sometime in late March 03. For those who have placed orders with me, do not despair, my intent is to pick up where I left off upon my return. I very much appreciate your patience and understanding. Over the past several months time in the shop has been rare due to the tremendous amount of preparation work at the base, and I apologize for orders that have exceeded my projected completion times. I have decided that upon my return, I will apply for retirement (22 years is long enough for me), and devote my full energies to being a Full-Time Knifemaker by late 03. During my absence, Tom Ferry has agreed to moderate my forum on the Custom Knife Directory (Thanks Tom!), and my lovely wife Cindy will be posting reports there for me from time to time. I want to thank each and every one of you who have sent best wishes and prayers, I will miss you all. Once again, it’s time for me to protect the country and people I love so much. God bless you all.

Godspeed Ed,
Thank You for your service & we'll see you when you get back.
Regards,
Mike

Ed, be safe and keep your head down. We will see you when you come back.

Stay Safe Ed.
Email me if there is anything I can do to help you or the family out.

Ed...Have fun, stay safe, but please bring-back Saddams' head on a platter for me...Ok?.:D.

Be safe and Godspeed, Ed. I'm sure that I'm not the only BF member here to say that our prayers go out to you and your family, for your safe return.

May God Bless you and keep you safe Ed, and send an angel to watch over Cindy while you're gone!
Tell your fellow GI's how proud we are of them and the job they are doing and hope you can all come home soon!

Look after yourself while you are out there, Ed.

And come back, safe and sound and make more beautiful knives.

Feet and knees together, Ed. Remember to shoot straight, shoot first, and you aren't paid to bring ammo back.

Kevin
