**edit** added more pics
Andy hosted a small get together tonight with the crew and a few local Fiddleback Fanatics - wishing Ken aka Bamboo a hardy farewell and 'we better see you at Blade 2016'. Just posting a couple pics for now - cause it's late and I have to be at work in the morning. I'll be sure to add some more pics once I get home tomorrow evening.
Lots of good stories, bunch of laughs, and of course some oogling at Andy's personal knife collection.
Vance aka Phillip & Andy sitting. L-R (standing): Chris (OKT), UncleP, and Ken aka Bamboo
Prom52 getting a pic of Phillip, Andy, & Ken
a spectacular Bushfinger w/Koa handles from Andy's personal collection.
The fun with knives stuff started when Andy started opening kitchen drawers and pulling handles from a knife block on the stove top.
Some very early examples of his wares .. kitchen knives.
These are all used regularly by Leah and she was very concerned Andy was going to sell her kitchen cutlery.
Phillip tried his best to take that big whopper home - sorry I dont remember the name. Sandy-something.
This was an anniversary gift to Leah. It has an extended tang w/heart relief. The only Fiddleback marked this way.
Pics from Andy's 'blade book'. Every profile whether it was made or not is in the book .. and it's pretty thick .. and still has lots of room.
Shots of Andy's personal collection of his own knives .. some of these would be the some of the finest examples I've seen.
Others are ones he has a personal connection with.
Andy said something about his being a 1 of 1 .. but he wasnt happy with the final results. S35V maybe?
This one was special to him .. 'hand rubbed'
This was my favorite of in the tool box .. Andy brought it up, 'i should do some more pins like this' and I whole heartily AGREED!
His at home work bench. The machinist box holds his collection of other Georgia Makers.
The 3 small ones laying past that with their sheaths were made by 'Sylverfalcen' aka Silver Falcon - and they were highly cherished by Andy.
