I by chance set the display of threads to start at the beginning. ..900 pages ago in another century. I was fascinated! Like many I would search for topics that I was curious about and have dived deep into the search for rare, odd 112's to find out more about my main Buck collecting model. .I found that when this subforum started it had a different flavor for instance the introduction of BG42 by Buck was a big deal to the knife community as well as the whole Master Series. The 532 seemed to be especially popular and there was a real buzz about Petes Custom Shop. I urge all of yall to dive deep back into the early days of the forum as there is a LOT of Buck lore and history buried in the early days. One of the great things about that time was Mr Hubbard was really active and shared freely on many topics. I was fascinated with the discussion about Bucks Smachet and there is a lot more gold to be found. After you check out what's going on now take a look back. .I'm learning things I never knew. ..

I also spend alot of time perusing old posts.... it's a wasteland now of missing photos...:(

I wonder where those members disappeared to.

Clint is spot on, the written history is a wealth of knowledge just waiting to be uncovered. Also, the BCCI web site and all the old Newsletters that can be viewed there is worth the cost of membership. Knowledge is power so they say!

My thoughts on the loss of all the years of photo's is nothing short of criminal IMHO. The bastard that runs photobucket is akin to the nazis burning books, but, that guy did it to hijack money to line his fatcat pockets for all the years of photo history he erased. I noticed that if you do a google search for photo's, that search will pull photo's from you current photobucket account. However, the pictures are clear at the thumbnail size and will blur when enlarged. Please forgive my rant folks.

Some of us from that era are still around. I don't post much but I pop in quite often to see whats new.

I don't know if I was a registered BF member or just a lurker when Pete's custom knife shop came online but I must have been one of the first to order. (Nickle silver, BG42, Indigo royalwood with pins, brown sheath and Dana Queen C/O... in case you were wondering.) It was a pretty big deal to be able to custom order a knife online.

As a side note, I wish I could have bought one of every master series knives when they came out. Unfortunately, I could only scrape up the cash for a master series 110 overrun (with smooth green handles)... I might even still have a buck catalogue with the master series listed. I'll have to look.
