Hope it was a great trip,I finally got to go last weekend & had a blast.
Hope the camera was charged too.

We had a great time. Met up with Tackett13 and his boy for a couple of days. I had some good pics hiking until I realized the card wasn't in the camera! Imagine that. I did get some pics of the blades brought and used. I also worked on a spoon last night out of some walnut we were using for the fire so I will finish it up and post a pic.
All the knives! There were a few of mine, a couple Bills, Tacketts first and last that he has made, and a couple others

KFU Knives

The only Camp knife Ive finished. I gave this one to Matt after it was done. I love this knife! I about stole it back from him when he left. We used it to baton hickory and walnut the whole time we were there and it worked for two days without a sharpening. I will be making myself one!

My kids along with Matts son. I think we had enough pointy sticks by the end of the day for 100 marshmellows!

Looks like a good time Chris. Great pics. That KFU camper is sick; I want me one for sure!

I am ready to go back now bro!! That was a blast. I still don't think we brought enough knives. You posted knife porn, but I got to come home with the star of that flick- That camper, let me tell ya is a beast. If you need a knife you can batten wood (not gently mind you) with all day then slice up some tomatoes with at supper... then get one from Chris. I think we broke about 5 battens aand the knife does not have a scratch. That thing is still sharp now sittin here ready for more. I had to check my truck multiple times to make sure it was still in there when I was leaving!
On another note, its been awhile since I been on here, I got a job outta town so for about six months I been residing in a tiny little apartment while my boy finished up kindergarten back home. But now were finally moved and back together and hey got my computer back. And my shop!!! So now all is well here about 20 minutes outside the smokies. So you guys may be seeing some more of me again round here.

Nice pics everyone. Chris, that camp knife looks way cool, what handle material did you use? Did anyone get poison ivy/oak? (looks like it growing on the tree, hard to tell in the pic)

Thanks for sharing Chris! We went camping over Memorial Day weekend and I can absolutely relate to the 100 pointy sticks comment! I had along my Bushpik (which was a favorite for the whittlers and kids alike), BK14, BK7, BK15, BK16, and Cutlass Machete. My Kershaw Leek and my sons little slipjoint were good starting points for the kids around that had never used a knife before.

thanks guys, that is curly white oak with green liners. There was poison ivy everywhere but luckily nobody got it. I think with the warm winter that we had nothing died. The ticks were huge!

That pic of the little guy with the camp knife brought to mind one word............

REDRUM!

Great pics Chris.

I left North Carolina in 90 & since I've been camping/hunting up here I have only found 1 tick on me & haven't gotten poison ivy/oak once.
And no chiggers either, man them things would drive me crazy.
