Okay - 6:00 am tomorrow morning I am going to be on the Detroit River hunting walleye. I know some of you are thinking the Detroit River is a polluted and why would you want to eat fish from there. Well there are bad parts and good parts to this old river - I study this system and know its problems well. But you see, walleyes this time of year are just a moven' on through. They are really Lake Erie fish and just cause you land'em here don't mean they spent their whole lives in this place.

Attached below are some hopeful outcomes. I can live with any of them. I'll try to check in tomorrow night and tell you how it went. It'll probably be embarassing if I'm skunked!

Its not the fishing its the going fishing that i like. I bet you would do great no matter what you cache.

Well unfortunately - skunked was the word. We tried our best.

And we weren't alone - busy place up by the salt mines!

But alas, we had to suffer watching others pull in fish. My buddy had one on for a couple of seconds but it couldn't be landed.

Downstream was a little more nice, but no luck there either.

One cool gadget my buddy had was a pair of pliers that had a built in bottle opener. He borrowed it from his father and didn't know its origins. Anyone seen one of these before?

Hopefully next time it will be a bit better :)

Hi Eric,

I live in LaSalle so we are pretty close to one another. Maybe we could meet sometime at the Pie Lady (if she is still open - saw a for sale sign on the shop last year). Gotta have that strawberry rhubarb again.

Too bad about the skunking, I love to catch wallys. Although if I was still living in southern Ontario I'd focus on the salmon/steel head. Good luck next time.
