Going from a 0300 to a 0560 - Any opinions / Input?

I'm thinking about selling off my 0300 to help fund a 0560 purchase. I really love the 0300 though. Its the toughest folder I've ever owned. Everyone knows; its a tank. But often because of its weight, It gets left behind in favor of a fixed blade of similar weight. I EDC a leek, and would probably never carry an 8oz knife, daily.

So... What, if anything am I losing by going from the 0300 to the 0560. Assisted opening is one thing, but not a biggie. Is the 0560 just as tough in a lighter knife?

You lose the solid pivot with hex head in favor of the male/female torx standard, thumb ramp, recurve, belly. The solid pivot is a big part of its claim to strength, so probably the 0560 is not as tough in that regard, though I've never bent a pivot before.

"Just as tough" as the 300? Well, only having the 560, I'm kinda doubting it is as tough as the 300. It is quite a tough knife, IMO, but I think the 300 is probably tougher.

I think it is up there with the 300 but just under it. You can't find a tougher pivot than that of the 0300 and 0200 in a production piece, atleast not at the price point. But that being said i do believe the 056x is very tough. I have one and have yet to put it to the test but I have zero doubts it is less tough. In my opinion the 560 or even 550 and 0200 are easier to use due to the blade shape and tips. I like a more pointy tip for piercing and intricate details. I find it hard to use my 0350 for certain tasks because of this. I do still carry it alot though.

I doubt I will ever be able to test the toughness of of my 300 let alone the 560 but that being said the 560 is probably a little easier to carry because its lighter and more slender, albeit longer. The 560 should be a fair bit easier to sharpen because its not recurved also. I don't know from experience, yet, but I would say the Elmax steel is a bit tougher than the s30v also so that should make for a little less resharpening.

Speaking of which, I'd love a stonewashed Elmax 300.
