I got a couple of things in the mail today. I got a Swiss Army Soldier Knife sent two me by a friend over seas, and Storl sent the replacement for the broken super striker. Storl is such a stand up guy he actually sent two replacements...maybe one in case I decided to see how far the metal went into it. I don't think that will be necessary as now that I have them side by side I can tell by looking at these two new ones that the metal goes much further into the handle than on the first one.

in this picture the first one is on the right. The swell in the plastic of the two on the left lets me know the metal is much more deeply embedded.

I used one to start a small tinder pile on fire with.

Glad it all worked out for you. I have two super strikers from Stori, one has the visible bulge or swell as you have noticed, one does not. I have used them both hard and haven't had any issues. Let's hope you got the only bad one produced.

Those are cool! And very nice of him to send the extra striker. I am eager to try one of those out sometime. I also haven't yet been a customer at Going Gear, which is kind of sad!

Well, I have been around a while and I know that stuff happens. I have bought bad brand new De Walt drills at Lowe's, bad brand new nail guns at Duo Fast, bad brand new control modules and pick up coils at parts stores, bad brand new automotive and lawn mower batteries...mainly at Wal-Mart but at other places as well. Good customer service means a lot o me, more so than perfection, and it couldn't get any better than this!

Yes they are cool, and work very well with the Badger. With products like the badger firesteels, and customer service like this it's hard to go wrong there. I hope GG stays around for a long time to come.

And um try not to break these :D;)

Oh...if something can be broken I can likely break it without trying.

My dad used to say I could tear up an anvil with a rubber hammer :o but my bosses always like having me around on demo days :D nothing like getting to demolish walls to let out stress :)

Just got a package from Going Gear last week. Replacement (misplaced in the house somewhere) Fenix E01 for my youngest son's stocking & a 27oz Stainless Steel bottle for my Maxpedition bottle carrier.

Met the couple involved with Going Gear at a gun show in Dalton, Ga. a while back. The wife was great with my youngest, letting him play with various fire starters.

I bought two of the strikers sometime back. I just recently bought two more since they work so well and don't cost much. The latest ones are more deeply imbedded. That said I do not see how you could break either one striking a steel. Using it to scrape fatwood for maya dust might do it to the original one.

One of the striking techniques I use on the LMF involves a good bit of pressure on the very end of the firesteel, The metal was only in the handle 1/8 of an inch with 3/4 inches sticking out...it was simple leverage that did it. But, as I said even after it came apart I was able to put it back together and strike the badger and ignite tinder twice, and then I just used the metal piece by itself with the firesteel to ignite another pile...it wasn't anything life threatening just a mess up....it happens to the best of us now and then.

She is my #1 sales attractor. No one can turn down a pretty blond. :)

I buy my Fenix E20's from GG. (I am a night shift Corrections Deputy in a county lock-up.) My coworkers are so impressed with it, I have to point them in GG's direction or order for them and get reimbursed.

I managed to score a new firesteel, striker, and couple other gadgets along with my recent order for a buddy.

I believe I will have another order inbound for them again tonight, as yet another coworker is wanting to know where to buy from!

GG is awesome. Bought some stuff earlier this year and had fast shipping with great communication. A good combination.

There are those who would say that using your wife's looks to your advantage are wrong....I say you have to use whatever you have to accomplish the mission :D
