Any idea of how long it takes to go into effect?

Payment by credit cards goes through right away. Payment by PayPal has to be entered by Spark. Your upgrade went through already, so all you need to do is update your color and title:

Go to Setting (upper right) and then to Permission Groups (left side) and click on Gold.

I try to support sites that I frequent. I'm very active on a BMX site and buy/sell/trade there. not sure how much buying/selling/trading I'll do here, but it is nice to have the option. Also, not being able to PM was annoying me. Another plus was the ability to post my sweet avatar. Boy do I miss that girl.
