About 10 degrees per side. Should be interesting to see how it holds up.

I'd say it should hold up pretty well given that you don't cut anything overlay hard or abrasive. It will be awesome to hear your report after usage though. Good job!

Beautiful polish job. Wish I could do mine that pretty. I can get mine sharp, but never that pretty.

I look forward to the follow up on how it performs.

I did close to the same in my pm2. I do all my edges freehand so I have no idea the exact angle, but judging by the height of the bevel on yours, I'd say mine is very similar. I used it for a while with no microbevel and it cut like a laser. Unfortunately much of my cutting happens to be pretty thick, abrasive cardboard and it did chip on me a few times. Nothing major, but enough to be obvious that I needed to go a little bit more obtuse. I put a 30° inclusive microbevel on it, keeping the back bevel at what looks to be around 20° inclusive and it has preformed admirably.

That is some good work there, did you put a micro-bevel on it as well?

This. Without a micro-bevel, I would think the performance in S30V wouldn't hold up at 10 degrees (then again, I've never tried it, so what do I know :D ).

No micro bevel at this stage, I am expecting chipping at this angle when cutting cement bags like these:

Then after that I will do a micro bevel at 600grit diamond and it should stop any issues while still giving good performance.

Here is something nice :)

Here are two other steels being steeled :)

It is very interesting to see how much light steeling and stropping could improve a dull working edge, from completely dull to paper cutting sharp.

Useful info to have when you are far away from your preferred sharpening kit and need a touch-up...
