I've done some major reshuffling of my collection this year- sold a bunch to fund some gun purchases and swung heavier into folders. I decided to simplify my fixed blades and decided on one go to blade in the 4" range.

Decided to go with this...



I just love the grind, res c and how tough it is. I had a gen 2 that I regretted selling and wanted to bag a gen 1. Picked it right up and no problem with fuzz sticks.



Now I just need a sheath...anybody know the maker of those simple pouch sheaths these used to come with? Or maybe what size pouch sheath would go with this sucker? I just want something basic.

There's no school like old school! :D :thumbup:

I love my gen 1 Howler. It was my first Busse/kin. Mine rides in an Okuden kydex I picked up many years ago at BLADE.
 
The original Howlers are sweet! Dwayne (Armoralleather) makes really nice Randall-style leather pouch sheaths.
 
Best knife there is.

I had one, then had a bunch, then sold a bunch, then finally got one again. This is just too good of a blade to ever be without. I have been considering picking up a couple more (again) just to have one in every pack. :thumbup:

I just want an inexpensive simple sheath. Had one for my gen 2 and it was perfectly fine. Looking at some cheapos on the 'bay, but need to get the right size.
 
A little update...

Beat the new off the Howler- check.



Has a chopper to keep it company? Check.



Have a folder (or 10) to back it up? Check.



Edge doing ok? Check again.



Leather sheath in the wings with Dwayne? All set! :thumbup: :D
 
I have 2 Gen 1 howlers and I will never sell them!!! It's such a perfect 4" knife. I also will pair it with my Battle Rat and they make a awesome combo set that will handle any task. Congrats!!

Thank you very much my friend! Glad its working for you! Its so hard to make Res C work with a pouch type sheath. :D
