Going on a rafting trip with work in like 21 days. I was hopeing to pick up a piece of INFI before then, as this will be first time(and probably the last till the end of the summer) I'll be in the woods. I don't know if anyone has been to northern Maine, but its.......special. Hell they even have a strip club up where we will be passing through.

Northern Maine strippers.. :barf:

Anyway, no idea what I'm taking with me. I hope to get some INFI in the future and take it with me next time.

Haven't given up yet. I'll be back with more money. I hope!

It is possible to take INFI with you this trip. Go to the Company Store and look over their inventory. And Scott (whose wife Vicki runs the Company Store while he plays with the knives ;) ) is an experienced rafter who could give you some great advice as to knife selection.

Mike, you consistently have good advice.

Peter: Thanks. When my kids were fifteen, they both thought that I gave the dumbest advice in the world.

Well the trip is in like 2 weeks now, and I still have to buy stuff for it. So I have something to sleep under, sleep in...and beer. Captain Morgan will be going with me as well.

Still kicking myself for not planning it better as I now realize me getting out in the woods with this summer season here will be very low. It would be no place to to test INFI. I suppose I will learn more about rats when I get out there and use my barely used CT. Though I would still take an INFI so I learn more about the difference.

though if I had to own ONE busse it would be Meaner Streets. The length, and thickness is just what I need and actually use.

Mike, may I ask you a questian about your kids? If so, do they share your passion for Busse Combat knives or knives in general?

I realize this is none of my business but if he had not wanted to answer he could have just ignored the questian or said no.

For those of us with kids, do they share your passion for Busses Combat knives or knives in general? (If you don't mind me asking)

Peter: No problem. I love to talk about my kids.

My son Michael, age 29, was adopted at 2 months old. He decided when he was about three years old that he was a ball player. He was a gifted athlete, and tried anything and everything - baseball, basketball, football, cross-country, wrestling. He simply found my fishing and hunting activities to be too tame because they did not involve high speed collisions. He never developed a love for the knives, guns, and other acouterments involved in my pursuits.

My daughter Kimberly, 23, was adopted at 4 -1/2 years old. She was a natural hunter and fisherman (fisherperson?). When only five she would sit still for hours with me in hopes of seeing a deer, and she always had a real knack for catching fish. We always had to really watch her when dressing deer at our club house because she would be right up in the body cavity, checking everything out. She was very into guns and knives before her hit and run, and still loves knives and going to Blade.

Michael will inherit one or two guns and a couple of knives just in memory of the old man. Kim stands to have an obscene amount of guns and blades one day.

OHhhhhhhhhhhhh...you did it again :p :D

Mike... That is AWESOME. Looking forward to meeting you and yours at blade. Oh yeah, eagle flew the coop today ;)

Mike, it is quite interesting that Michael and Kimberly developed such different interests. Do you have any idea why this is? Strangely enough my younger brother and I are the same way. He (Jon, 11) is the athletic type and is involved in a lot of extra-curricular activities. This is not to say I don't do sports but not to the extent that he does. I am more involved in the outdoors, knives, firearms, survival, bushcraft, emergency prepardness and in general a "country boy" even though I live in a big city.

Different genes, different temperaments, I suppose. Although adopted, Kim was always like me in so many ways that it was spooky.
