Dear Busse Family,
Well I just wanted to wish everyone here in the Busse Forum a good week. I am going on vacation with my family(after 7 years of no vacation)to Missouri so that should be fun. I don't post here much(cause I learn much more by watching and listening) but I a check this forum 2-3 times a day. I just wanted to make sure and tell you that I want to read some good posts when I get back on how "Satin Jack" Screams for more abuse and how your BM still cuts the top of a Buick really well.

P.s. Hey Van and Climber...sorry we couldn't get together this weekend. What about next Saturday? Wilderness Park will never be safe now from nuclear attacks:?

Howdy, Lukers!
If you want to do a wilderness park excursion on Saturday, i'll make it a point! [API!

Van & i cleared some brush off the trails last week, with our "Edged Tools". Very satisfying to know i have a massive Busse Blade strapped to my Mongoose, ready for anything!
Van bought one of my #9's so he's now a Happy Camper! His first Busse! As one forumite put it, he's doing the New Knife Happy Dance! (& he didn't even have the experience of having to wait for the Brown Truck of Joy to deliver it!)
So how long is your vacation in Misery?
And what's this i hear about you having a forge...? Hmmm...
Yours in nuclear Collecting, Using, & Testing (C.U.T.) of all things Busse!

Hey thanks Chip(your the guy with the Huge busse collection right?...I really all of yours, If they ever need a baby sitter let me know)!
Clif, it sounds like a deal man...I have to make sure my Rock Shox are adjusted and I have plenty of patches, and a chain tool(once I broke my chain in Wilderness Park 3 miles in, Luckily there was a guy with a Powertool21 so I fixed it).I'll bring my BM up and maybe a Big Bowie Bolo I just forged out of leaf spring(if i can get it done right after we get back and bring it up to link)I also want to show you and Van some of my other projects

You and Van should come down sometime and I'll show my neotribal bladeshop along with my homemade 2x72 grinder(you'd be surprised what you can do with 2x4's, an old motor, bungy strap, coat hanger, some bolts and screws and a wood lathe)Hey you know who Doc Ron Hood is right? Do I dare breath his name around here, hehe

Well anyways, I bought all of his videos and they have some excellent fotage of his custom grade Battle Mistress chopping off marmot legs and taking on trees. Cool stuff! He also uses his SH, BA and MS in there too for a lot of neat cutting. I used to have a b3, b5, b9 and MS. They were all great but I liked the b9 the most cause it was a chopping mama. To me .25" is a wee-tinkle to thick for a short blade. Now I have a Bm and I really like it. I want to do some cutting tests with it and compare the results to some of my blades. No doubt my knives will lose compared to any Busse but they work well for being make from leaf springs(5160) and coil springs and being forged in coal with no fancing equipment.
Oh well I better go to bed now, sorry I blabbed on so much.
Good night,
Luke

Lukers: i'm impressed! No blabbin' apologies necessary, my friend; i hung on every word.
Nothing wrong with 5160; that's grand stuff. i didn't have nearly the consistent use of equipment you appear to have when i built my sword out of leaf spring years ago... Double edged with a fuller running down the middle of both sides: 1/4" thick: what else?
2x72..!? WOW

!
Yes, i love those #9's... had to share one with Van so he could experience the pleasure of raw INFI cutting/chopping power.
Woods' videos: i would LOVE to see those; haven't been able to make the commitment to purchase them.
Did U trade off your Basics & Mean Street for the Battle Mistress?
(By the time you read this, you may be gone & back again, but U can reach me at MASTERLOUCKS@juno.com re: Saturday Wilderness adventures...

Enjoy your week!

Wilderness park, here we come!!! We could chop down the whole forest by supper time. I have cleared my Sat. afternoon for knife fun. I scheduled the #1 Nebraska Husker baseball game for Friday at 6:00pm in stead of Sat. after noon.
