This is getting fun.

The Blade show is just around the corner. Even without knives this is my favorite weekend of the year due to friends. Getting to touch base with so many folks that I care about is the most important aspect of the show. To top it off, with a little luck, there might be a knife or two that get added to my collection.

Hopefully adding the Broadwell bowie/fighter to the dagger he made will happen in the next couple of weeks.

There is another project by a bro that will be ready pretty soon. Mark Williams made a beautiful cane for my mom a while back another project that we had talked about took a back seat to the making of the cane and Mark just sent me a teaser pic.

Mark Williams does really nice work, making original, creative, interesting and unpretentious pieces that he puts a lot of himself into. I just realized that as I type this there are several of Mark's creations right here in the room with me. I never get tired of them. Plus, Mark is a nice guy and super easy to work with. :thumbup:

I am betting that Mark has become a friend too. The work he and his wife Deb did on my mom's stick is excellent. Mom, loves that cane and has talked a couple of times with Mark. I was fortunate to meet him at a hammer in a few years ago and he managed to talk me into hammering a little steel. Since then I always look forward to spending time with him as a friend.

As a maker, his style appeals to me. I think I remember at least three of the pieces he made for you that I saw on the forums and I also was knew from them that I would be happy just turning him loose on another hawk.

It was easy to just ask him to put me in line for a "duded up" pipe hawk telling him to have fun with it and adding nothing else.

I love this piece. I am pleased that Gus brought it in to give it a 'proper' display. It needs it. Thanks. What a clever beauty.
