I'm going to be in Chapel Hill tomorrow and Friday so I thought I'd run over to Cary and visit Beck's Cutlery. What can those of you who have been there tell me about the store, i.e.: prices, product lines, etc.... Any help will be appreciated. tf ;)

Only advice I could give you would be to take some "green" with you! I've never been but have heard that prices are very reasonable. Bow down to the MIGHTY TAR HEEL for me!! :D

I lived in Raleigh for six years, worked in Cary for 2. I've never heard of Beck's. Where is it located?

They're about 3 minutes from Waverly Place Shopping Center, just up Hwy. 64 across from the auto dealerships. Great selection and reasonable prices -- this was my first holiday in a couple of years when I didn't stop by to shop around -- funds were tight this year.

I lived in Raleigh for 17, worked at the Goodberry's in Cary on Kildaire Farm Rd. for two. Been in Wilmington for 8 years now.

I am with Carthage, I work all over the triangle but have never physically seen Becks. I will have to make sure I go out of my way to stop in this week and see whats what.

I used to go there from time to time when I lived in Holly Springs. Nice people there, they have a very good selection of cooking knives and a good selection of folders. Prices are good but not "absolute rock bottom". It's been a couple of years since I've been there, though.

They are very good people running the shop and I'm sure you will enjoy spending some time there.

As planned I went to Beck's Cutlery on the morning of the 30th. They have an excellent selection of CRK, WH, Lone Wolf, Case, Strider, Spyderco, Benchmade and many other brands. I also had the pleasure of meeting Patsy Beck who proved to be a very hospitable and knowledgeable host. She was very patient as I perused and fondled several knives before settling on an Mnandi (I know, big surprise) w/Bocote Inlays. I encourage everyone in the area to visit Beck’s. You won’t regret it. BTW, here’s a link to their web site: http://www.beckscutlery.com/home.htm ;)
