Going to buy a katana. Need help.

It all depends on what you want the weapon for. If your looking to cut in your back yard I would go with the Ronin Pro. If you want to appreciate the inherent beauty of the steel the folded steel katana from Musashi is probly the way to go. I have cut with both but tend to stick to lighter targets with the folded steel blades. The monosteel blades are super tough, butfor the prices involved you're most likely not going to cry when you damage an edge.

So behonest with yourself and you shouldn't have any regrets with either.

Also, I'm a big fan of the SBG store. Nothing but good expierences when purchasing from them. I've never used KOA but I've heard good things about them. I'm sure someone else will chime in soon with their expierences soon.

Ive been looking around online at different katanas and im trying to keep it under 250$. Something decent. sof far ive found these...

THIS is what it has come to.......:grumpy:

A "DECENT" monosteel Chitana would be something along the lines of the CAS Hanwei Raptor, which street retails for somewhere around $275.00 and is worth it, as they are generally well made and you can cut with confidence....the geometry is acceptable.

You could not give me a differentially hardened piece at that price point, I would not trust it, and the construction would likely be lacking.

Happy shopping!

CAS Iberia has good stuff, go look for that on Kult of Athena again. Knifecenter has some, too.
