Anyone have pros or cons on these two. Price is similar, never owned a Hogue but plenty of BM and Spyderco.

If you have an opinion, I’d love to hear it.
Thanks, Mike

Personally if it was my money I’d go RSK. Hogue is very high on the list of stellar USA made cutlery. It’s a design that Benchmade never should have stopped making. Very glad Hogue picked it up. Very respected as a more refined Griptilian.

Could easily go either way. The Sage has a better blade grind (full flat), the compression lock is great, and probably a slightly better heat treat. The RSK has more usable blade length and a more ergonomic handle, and you might like the AXIS lock better.

These days I would lean heavily toward the Hogue RSK. It certainly will be more comfortable in prolonged use.

The RSK would be my choice. I have the full size in magnacut and it is one of my favorites.

Both are excellent knives, however if I could only have one....even as a giant Spyderco fan....I'd choose the Hogue. The crossbar lock is one of my favorites, and the RSK is a really nice knife. I don't own one, but have gotten to handle several. They knew what they were doing with those.

Manix 2 lightweight salt. Made in the USA. More for the money than the Sage.
And it is actually cheaper than the Sage, but I already own both in other steels and the lw Manix doesn’t get any pocket time, although it does ride in my Bino harness.

I have a G10 Manix 2 but I consider the LW Salt version to be changed enough to be a different knife that I'm likely to buy one. Only the dimensions are the same. Even though it's made in Taiwan, the Sage is priced like US built Spydies.

Both are great edc choices, can't really think of any major "con" for either knife.. maybe.. if your hands are really large, you may be able to get a more comfortable grip on the Sage (w/choil) than the Mini RSK (not that the Mini is uncomfortable.. I have XL hands, the handle is perfectly serviceable). Ultimately, it's going to come down to personal preferences, especially with regard to colorway & lock-type.. no bad choice, pick the one you like. I'd go with the Hogue overall.. but, I had to think about it haha..

Winner winner. You mentioned one of the most common traits I look for in a knife fixed or folder, the choil. I can’t believe I missed it. All my Spydies have the
choil.

Caly Jr
Chaparral
Para 3
Sage cpm m4
Manix LW

And now coming soon the Sage 5 Magnacut.
Thanks for all your input.
