Anybody got anything they want me to check on?

Any questions for the crackerjack Cabela's staff?

Last time I was there they had nothing that interested me in the way of knives.

But hope springs eternal.

Ask them why their prices in the Bargain Cave, where everything is sold as is, is generally the price you'd play online.

Not sure I get the question.

You mean the Bargain Cave prices are about the same price as new stuff from their website?

Well, I'm hitting the road. Got a lunch date up there.

I plan to get to the Bargain Cave, so I'll ask a few questions about prices.

Cabela's had nothing interesting.

I had lunch and chatted a bit, picked up some stuff I had shipped from website to store and left.

Asked the Bargain Cave guy why his prices were so high and he said "because it sells at that price."

I guess they have a big tent sale in late summer to get rid of anything that's been around too long.

So it goes in my neck of the woods.

No I meant that you kind find things like GPS, or Scopes on Amazon for the same price that they are selling it in the Bargain Cave. With out their warranty why pay more?

You said the guy says it sells at that price. I guess there are plenty of people with out much sense out there. :)

Yeah......I guess the only way to get a real bargain is to wait for their big outside tent clearance sale every summer.

I bought a scope for an air rifle in the Bargain Cave once.....and that's only because the guy promised me he would take it back if there was anything wrong with it.

Otherwise, I have found their prices to be so close to new prices that I may as well buy new.

As you say, there must be a lot of people without much sense buying that stuff.

I picked up an AG S30V 110 out of their BC one time. Only thing wrong with it was the ID10T's at Cabellas scratched x's on the back side of the tang. I guess to designate it was sold out of the BC. Got it for bout half price. One of the rare deals from the BC.

Several times a year the Cabelas Alaska Guide Series knives are on sale. I stocked up last December when they were 25% off, along with a $20 off $100 purchase coupon. That sale lasted only a few day as I remember. Would have never paid full retail price.

Yeah, that's the way to buy at Cabela's.....points, coupons, and sales.
