I’ve just made the fist down payment for a Natural Outlaw E at the only decent knife store around. They had this knife by chance and I had to have it! :D  If all goes well it will be paid in full, and mine within a month. I’m not that familiar with Busse models and terminology, but I believe it is a mint condition NO-E, Combat Grade. Greyish-green canvas micarta handle slabs, black crinkle coat. Standard sheath, asymmetric grind. It looks just like the second NO from the top at the Bad Mojo website: http://homepage.mac.com/zombiekiller/badmojo/no.html My only concern is that this knife is somehow collectible (since it is discontinued) and that I therefore shouldn’t use it. :o  I intended to use this baby hard as a general camp/trail knife. Any considerations?

It’s funny, I have always thought that the E-handled Busses were the ugliest of all Busse knives. Now I think this NO-E is one of the coolest knives I’ve seen, period. I even like it better than the new line! Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder… And perspectives change, I guess…

Welcome to the club. NO-E's have that effect on a lot of people.

It's only "collectable" if you say it is.

Keep it nice or beat it down...either way you're gonna love it.

I think to some extent, they are all collectable... I am finding the SHSHII to be my favorite, *that* is getting expensive!

I think the best part of going Busse is, you can use the knife for it's intended purpose, and someone will appreciate it when/if you choose to part with it.

Use it.

Hehe, I held that particular knife in my hand about two weeks ago and was THAT close to buying it:-) Congrats - it's a wonderful piece of steel!

Use it, beat it like a cheap...we are talking about a knife, right?
... not to worry, it's not like you can hurt it and after you've knocked all that pretty black off of it, sand it down some and beadblast it. Then start all over with the beatings!!!!

I used to have one...i lost it in the woods when i went hiking...how i miss it so....if you get tired of it (which im sure you wont) hit me up and ill take it off your hands

I could collect 'em, but I'd rather beat 'em.

If you don't use it, you lose it. Right?

The NO-E is a fairly handy size, and it is definitely a heavy duty knife. The E-handle models have been discontinued about 3 years, and are not too uncommon yet, so I would not worry about using it. Congratulations on your first Busse! :)

Thanks for chiming in, guys. I just needed to make sure that I wasn't abusing a collectible piece of valuable Busse history. I don't want a "safe queen". When I buy a kicka$$ knife like this, I definitively want to use it with “NO REGRETS”. (A Busse term, I believe… :D) I understand and appreciate that the value of Busses will not decrease all that much, even after some heavy use. And the sentimental value only rises!

Well, I got it yesterday, all I can say is WOW, what a knife. When I hold it I suddenly get an unexplainable urge to go chop something up! I made a nice D-guard for it the first day, all it needs now is a low ride leather/kydex sheath. I think the NO-E is the perfect Busse knife (at least for me) - just the right size and very functional. I love how one can shift the balance by gripping the E-handle in different ways. I really look forward to take it with me on my next camping/hiking trip!

Congrats Bro!

I used my NO-e for camping all last year and I loved it.

No go out and give it hell!

I also just got my first Busse knife.... and I want more INFI!!
Let's say I'm addicted ;)

Nice first Busse!

Hey RoughEdge, I didn't realize that you lived in Sweden until I checked your post again. And I thought that I was just about the only knifenut in the whole country! Got any Busse's? (I do... :p :D )

Krav,

If you edit your post above by putting image tags around the url like I show here:

That will make them appear automagically when your post loads. Alternatively, you can paste the bottom line of the three options photobucket gives you for each picture, rather than the top line (which is what you have up there).
