Will be in Golden CO on Saturday - Whoo Hooo! I hope to take some pictures and maybe grab something sharp from the Spydie Home. Will try to post pic's when I can.

They are open Saturdays, I believe until 5pm or so. Enjoy your journey to the SFO, they are very nice there and very helpful.

They also have a few goodies not offered online or by dealers such as the Flash drive, Spydie holes, hat pins and such. I believe they are also running a special for August, a free CE FRN Stretch with a purchase of $150 or more. Well worth it IMO! They also have several buy 1 get one half off and some sort of sale on H1 knives so you'll have alot of choices, make sure your credit card is ready ;)

If you are coming from the south you will want to pass Spyderco and Spyderco Way and go in the next block down on the left since you cannot make a direct left hand turn onto Spyderco Way.

Thanks tinwiskers. Will have to keep the eyes open on the sales for sure. I am looking forward to hands on with the Para 2 and the Sage so I would hope to be able to take advantage of the deal on the Stretch.

We will be coming in through Denver I suspect .. not familiar with the area at all so will be relying on the GPS a whole lot. We are starting out in Regina, Canada and looking at about 15hrs driving to get there. This is the first leg of a trip that will ultimately end in Treasure Island Florida.

Well .. we made it to the SFO!!!!!
Had a great time, met Mike - he is an evil evil man I tell ya.

The haul -
Para 2 - only 1 on had which was the display model. Mike cut a deal on it for us - Thanks Mike!
CF Sage 1
FRN Stretch for a freebie for spending over $150 as Tinwiskers noted above. Mike was kind enough to make it plain edge for me to boot.

My wife picked up a SS Cricket in VG10 - sweet little knife. She bought it because it looked cool. Thats my girl.
She also get a Fisher Space pen. It is supposed to be able to write at 30 below. We will put it to the test this coming winter.

2 - SS bugs - they are cute and they are spydies
1 - SS Grasshopper - another cute little knife.
2 - packs of Spydie Holes
a Spyderco hat.

Got some pics and drooled a lot. All in all a great first visit. I am sure it wont be our last as it is only a 14hr drive from home. Going to Golden and surrounding area are amazing. Spyderco is the topping on the cake.

Excellent! I am glad you had a good trip and you left with a nice haul. The folks are SFO are so nice and helpful, they are beginning to recognize me because I find myself in there about every other week. One of these days I hope to see the inside of the factory but for now I will just dream

I really wish they made a video or something from inside the factory going over grinding, shaping, sharpening, etc. I think that would be awesome.

@ Tinwhiskers - I wonder if I can call and buy one of those banners over the phone, that is wicked cool. I received a USB drive and a sticker once when I sent in a couple knives for warranty evaluation. Charlynn is awesome!

Yes, I would also love to see "The Making of a Spyderco (insert model name here)". Everything from cutting the blade blanks, to heat treat, grinding, sharpening, G10 milling, etc. That is a fantastic idea.

Despite living about 20 miles away for about 15 years, i managed not to go there until last week. I've got to say i have definitely found my new favourite store. If i knew about that $150 stretch deal i would have taken advantage of it, oh well next time eh!

Do they sell spydercos at Golden, CO for MSRP?
nope, they aren't as cheap as you can find them online, but i'd rather pay a few dollars more and have the money go directly to spyderco!

hate to ask, but why the pickup of the spyder hole cutouts?

Simply because they were kinda cool. They serve no real purpose other than to be able to show our friends and watch the reaction of - why on earth did you get those :)

But in truth - the spyder hole is part of what makes our knives uniquely Spyderco so why not grab a few. They are kinda fun.

Wholeheartedly agree with you. It's really for the Spyderco nuts out there, it really serves no purpose than to have a piece of Spyderco novelity.

They use to throw these out or recycle them and I know many people were writing in asking for them so I guess Spyderco just made the holes available to everyone at the SFO

I'll be going next week. maybe handling a balance will change my mind about the price.
