Going To Iraq

I like how D2 looks when you give it an acid bath. Made from D2 with green canvas Micarta. Length is 10-1/2 inches.

The son of a coworker is going to Iraq and he will be gifting this knife to him.

That looks really good. I like the way the blade looks with the acid finish and have been thinking of doing it on some of my next batch of D2. What ratio of water to FC did you use on that one? Very nice work!

I used 4 to 1 for the FC acid and rubbed with 0000 steel wool between etches. 4-5 minutes per soak until desired color.

Way cool! Knife is outstanding, but learn some better knots! A butterfly knot for the small loop to a blood knot would be nicer I think! Where's th bottle opener?

All kidding aside, nice work and let's hope this knife gets brought back with its new owner, safe and sound.
