Going to Las Vegas this weekend, what can I bring?

So I did some searching around online, and the only thing I could really find says no blades over 3". But I don't know how recent that info is, is this still the case, and does that only pertain to locking blades? Are there any other regulations? Anything special for the strip?

Hi crunky -

I always take my Victorinox Waiter, and the last several trips I have also taken my Benchmade Mini-Griptilian, with a custom STR "denim color" deep carry pocket clip.

I have never had any problem so equipped in Vegas.

best regards -

Yeah, I was planning on bringing my Case mini trapper, and a larger lock blade until I saw the 3" rule. I guess this is a good excuse to buy a nice pocket fixed blade

The rule goes as follows, you can carry a 3.5 folder with out problems as long as you are not being an idiot, you can legally carry a fixed blade in the open but you get harassed for it

Well, I just got back from Vegas. I carried a Buck Vantage large clipped to my front pocket, and a Case mini trapper in the watch pocket. No one said a word, but I did have my thumb in my pocket most of the time so my hand was hanging down covering the clip. I also used the Case to slice up my prime rib at a restaurant(their knives were horrible! just ripping up my meat) and I got some funny looks from the couple next to us, but no one said anything.

Thanks guys, and thanks for the clarification, ninja.
