Going to Las Vegas...............

Going to Vegas and Laughlin area's the week of Aug. 12th. I'll be taking my 17 year old nephew with me. It's been about 15 years since I've been out that way. We'll be doing the going out to the desert shooting , camping , etc. for a night or two while we're there. But the really important thing is WHERE ARE THE KNIFE SHOPS IN VEGAS?????
I've heard there are some nice one's there and since I'll have the cash I figured I better adopt a few and give them good homes :D Oh yeah since my nephew will be there what can he do the first night in town since he can't gamble??? Eat's , entertainment ,etc.????

ANYhow, what Doggy-Imposter posted pretty much covered the spots I was gonna say... but if you go anyplace, definitely check out "Knives & More" on Sahara and Arville (northwest corner of the intercour...err..section) in a large strip mall.

The prices are fairly high compared to what you can get stuff for on the net, but the selection is excellent. I dunno what VA's like, but being from NJ, I was all impressed and stuff with their auto-blades selection. The guy there told me they'll only sell to law enforcement, but when I said I was armed security, he shouted (maniacally) "That'll work!" and I coulda buyed 'em if'n I wanted.
I almost did (real "impulse buy" factor here! Ya see a pretty new Microtech and you're willing to pay the added thousands of dollars to own one "NOW!") but I managed to walk away with my money... That reminds me...
VG, don't go to knife/gun/pet/blow-up-farm-animals stores with the wife no more!

That's the only place I've been to, mainly cuz when I'm in Vegas, the average business is closed.
I met Fearless Freddy's daughter tho, and she's HOT!
I dunno what that has to do with Freddy or his knives, but he's at that link too, and I was reminded of her soft, oh sooooo supple....

I had a business card, but seem to have lost it. They had a really nice selection of higher end production pieces. They also had a nice selection of autos. I almost walked out with a Vallaton AlMar SERE (old one, not the 2000). It was sweet and opened much quicker than a similar sized Microtech.

Perfect timing. Make yourself a business card and head over the the ASD/AMD show at the convention center. You will be able to see several knife companies (Including mine) at the show which starts the 11th :D

Whoopsie, forgot about Bladerunner's question about what his nephew can do in Vegas....
The easy answer is just about ANYTHING. Bungee jumpin', sky divin' (real or in a big building with a giagantical fan on the floor), sub machine gun shootin', roller coaster ridin', the Stratosphere's got some one of a kind rides at the top... there's other stuff, but it'd be better to post that question in Community , as that would generate a whole mess of non-knifal responses.

Hey VG if you are in Vegas then hell ya come on by. Just grab a business card from anyone and say you are them. It is really about that easy.

And did the Stratosphere thing and the indoor sky diving. Both are way cool and musts! Do the Stratosphere at night. Much scarrier.

I don't know about the knife shops, but since you mention shooting, check out Front Sight. You may be there in time for the free machine gun course. Go to their site, FrontSight.com.
 
Check out Blanchard's Cutlery
3507 S Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas . If you are with the wife you can have her hit the Boulevard Mall while you visit Blanchards as it is right across the street from the Boulevard Mall .
And if you can not make it to Front Site , check out " the Gun Store " on Tropicana to rent a machine gun . I will be at the Hard Rock working all week...you can tell who I am by the Sebenza in my right front pocket :D
 
I check out Blanchard's every time I am in Vegas. I go to the CES show every January and take a couple of hours to go check out the great selection of knives that Gary has. That is a real nice store.
 
VG Cleared the box. I am in LA now and leave for Vegas on Saturday. Shows starts Sunday. Do a search online for ASD/AMD and you will get there web site and hours.

Hope to see some of you guys there.
 
If your lucky and Gary is getting ready for a show you can watch him work on knives. His shop has glass windows in it that allow you to observe him.

PoBoy be wary of visiting VG as Ive met him in person and once made the mistake of inviting him to Pioche to make a knife. So far I've been blessed as he hasnt taken me up on the offer :D
