After being online here and researching many many makers I have decided on the small Sebenza. You all have so many nice Sebenzas that it is imposible to choose one. The first thing I learned it I need to start saving for my second one already. As of now I am going with the small Sebenza micarta with double silver lugs. I want my first one to be nice looking, but practical as I want to carry it everyday. I really like the box elder and other wood inlays, but the Elk Mountain really caught my eye. I have purchased 3 ZT folders this summer. I have been working in an office lately and while I enjoy the 550 to open letters and to open abox, it does catch others by suprise.
I am in awe learing about the CRK products and all the varity of knives. I just remembered there are several Unique Graphic models that I would like to own someday. I hope the one I order will be the right choice for my first one as it will be special to me. If anyone has any comments or opinions I would be like to hear them.
thanks

I think you have made a very good decision for your first. Most would go with a large but you seem to already know knives and realize the large may be too big for your profession. I personally luv the small inlays. My most recent being a small carbon fiber inlayed Insingo from BladeHQ.com. Congrats on your first Seb. You will be pleased.

I started with the small and eventually bought the large and mnandi.

to be honest, the small does everything I need it to. Other 2 get used once a while.

Do you guys like the standard blade or insingo for your first sebenza? I'm thinking of getting a small and while I like the look of the insingo I'm thinking my first should be a standard 21 blade just because it has that classic look. No idea why I feel this way haha ;) hopefully I'm not thread jacking... I'm sure this thought has passed through 38-55kidd's mind as well.

Make sure you post great pics when it arrives. Oh yeah a word of advise. Don't trade or sell it ever. The first will always be special.

Small is perfect for edc, not too small or too large in pocket.

my mnandi keeps slipping out of its leather pouch included, and large feels, well large.

I did think that would be a great blade also. The one I found in stock was the regular blade. I was able to just handle the Large and Small Sebenza in person. A medium size would be perfect.
The small will be a good size for what I want, I just have to remember that.

It was definitely good to see them both in person. Still a tough choice with so many options.
There is no wrong choices, I am just going to enjoy the ride .

I would say go with an Insingo. They are both amazing blade designs and will accomplish most jobs you throw at them. The Insingo just makes every task I put it to completely effortless. It is a very utilitarian blade design IMHO. Either way you really can't go wrong, but for me a large plain Insingo and small Insingo are both lifers in my edc rotation. They are great blades and when it comes to the small Seb I have always been a big proponent of the micarta variants.

Small is a great place to start! If you work in an office they are a nice compact size yet can still handle everything just fine. The micarta is nice, if you are going in that direction I would go for the insingo blade like recommended above. If you are like the rest of us, it will be the first of many! Good choice:thumbup:

Thanks for the advice. I am trying to find the Insigno in the style I wanted. No luck so far. My job has been outside until and few months ago and I do spend time in the mountains but I think the small would be with me everyday.

Insingo small seem to be sold out ATM... I wonder what the usual restock time is for those bad boys
