Going to Paper Wheels from an Edgepro Apex?

I love my Edgepro Apex, however I do wish for something less tedious. I have pretty good hand/eye coordination. I've used a belt sander in the past but wasn't happy with switching the belts out and at the time had very little room for a permanent setup. Now I have the room for a permanent setup and was wondering, yet again, about paper wheels. I'd like to hear from anyone that was using an Edgepro and switched to using paper wheels. Thanks.

I have both and I still use both. Although, I touch up with the polishing wheel more often than I set up my Edge Pro.

my edgepro is collecting dust now and will not come out as long as i have electricity and access to my wheels. You wont regret the switch.

I actually gave my Edge Pro away after I got my wheels.

I just ordered the deluxe paper wheels set from Woodcraft.com. I haven't looked forward like to something like this in a good while. We just started redoing the house (carpeting, walls, etc.) so it'll be nice once everything gets done (does it ever though?) to start learning the wheels.

Sweet. When you get them just go slow and use some old knives a few times and you will have the idea. it took me about 10 min. to work up to one of my nice knives and I have not looked back. My wife also could not believe the difference in her paring knives after I got a hold of them. It sounds more complicated that it is.

an old hack saw blade is good to practice on also. scissors can be done quicker than a knife since you dont use the slotted wheel, the burr is removed when you close them. you can do sheet metal shears that wont cut anymore.
