For some mods to my BK&T's this could end badly. I'm planning on stripper and files. I just want to strip a couple and maybe add jimping. Any suggestions?

a selection of jewelers files, different shapes, some like triangle jimping others like round. its your choice. Also get superstrip. strips in minutes not hours. also get medium to fine sand paper. I start at 220 and go up to 1000 after stripping since the blade will be dull after stripping

Jeweler's files check, sandpaper I can get at work, unfortunately I got something other than superstrip.
Picked up a stripper;

Get a chainsaw file, I heard german made ones are pretty good (not kidding here), the possibilities are endless. Awesome for jimping and whatnot. You know the LandShark, right? All the mods were done with just one chainsaw file!

That's the right stripper. It'll work fast On the finish as well as in your eye's. Are you keeping the finish under the handles?

Also regarding the stripper, wear good gloves, thick ones and a stiff nylon bristle brush. brush stroke away from your body.

Paint brush to apply stripper gel. Scraper - I used a plastic one some use metal. Respirator, eye protection, some might say it's over kill but best be safe. If you plan on keeping the finish under the handles you will have to use painter's tape to cover these - stick tape on then cut around outline of handles with stanley knife.
If you plan on patina then have vinegar, lemon/lime juice, mustard even ketchup will do - these can be brushed on or soaked.

Make sure to have plenty of beer before you begin. It is a hassle to postpone mods for a beer run.

Gotta go back to the hardware store and the liquor store. Good suggestions from everybody, thanks!

You'll be fine with this stuff. It's amazing. It's what I used to strip all my knives, and the coating bubbles up and comes right off in no time. No worries.

I haven't really thought much about the finish being kept under the handles. I plan to cord wrap again, so maybe I should keep it. I should also note that I have a half dozen chainsaw files laying around.
