I don't know if any of these knives below are acceptable for a river environment. The river is freshwater and the knife needed may be submerged and around water for half a day. I won't be able to put oil on the pivot until I get home.

My knives to pick from are:

Sanrenmu 710 - 8cr14MoV
Spyderco Delica FFG - VG-10
Benchmade 551 - 154CM
Spyderco Military - S30V

I appreciate all their help.

My cheapo boat knife is a SOG Flash II. It has held up surprisingly well. I find its grip works well wet and when I used it underwater to free up rope that was tangled in the props, it felt like a diving knife.

i've used a delica in similar conditions.. submerged, in wet shorts, etc. next day blade had some rainbowing that was easily removed after a rinse and buff under warm water. simple teardown if your really concerned about corrosion

710 would prob be best from a lost/damage perspective but i think it may lack traction in wet conditions

I would love to bring the Millie; I'd hate to get drunk and lose it in the river.

I think the 710 is in order here. Does anyone know what steel the handles are made of? If its 420J it would be a good comparison as to how some of the others would hold up in the same environment.

River travel calls for a knife that you won't be heartbroken to loose...or just broke! Sanrenmu. Me, it would be a Mora with two as a backup...loose all 3 I'm only out $35!

My river/fishing kit knives are a Spyderco Salt 1 plain edge, and a Dragonfly Salt serrated.

I had a delica that fell in a lake and stayed overnight and all day the next day. Was able to locate it, and it is riding in my right front pocket right now (after a little clean-up and oiling of the pivot, but extremely minimal). I think it would be great for your purposes.
