Hey guys ... I live an hour north of L.A., CA. What's the best place on the web to get tickets and rooms for the San Diego Zoo?

Thanks in advance!

Ry

Are you just visiting the Zoo, or do you plan on going to the Wild Animal Park and SeaWorld as well? There are packages for all three, or you could look into Zoo Membership as well. I know Costco in southern Ca sells tickets at a discount.

If you plan to visit the Space Museum or other museums in Balboa Park then you might look into the Balboa Park Passport, they offer one good for the Zoo as well as the museums.

I don't know about tickets, but the Zoo is awesome. I could watch the gorillas fling poo for hours!

You are a man with waaaaayyyyyy too much time on his hands! But if it floats your boat...:barf: Who am I to judge? -Matt-

Well... maybe not hours.

Seriously though, I love the San Diego Zoo, and not just for the gorillas.

Ryan,
I suggest the wild animal park over the S.D. zoo, however both are great. If memory serves correct the WAP is a bit of a drive to the north, but you get to see lots of critters in a more natural environment. Also, they used to offer (for more $$) an opportunity to ride into the enclosures (at the WAP) and see them up close, and maybe toss some hay to them. I think that deal is best set up ahead of time. Of course you would have to sign some waiver in case Jeffrey (the Giraffe) takes a swipe at you.
all da best,
rats...

So it's just the poo?????? Then it should be the one-year unlimited Zoo Poo Review for you (Zoological Society Membership). Seventy-one smackers buys you unlimited zoo entry for a year. There's also the Zoo Poo Review 4 Two for only eighteen clams more (I believe they're offering a $10 discount on new memberships right now - it's a scat sale of stupendous savings!!!!!) Plus many zoo and museums have reciprocity with like organizations around the country. Support your Zoo and Museum!!! Active military are always free at the SDZ also..........maybe there's an LEO discount. Couldn't hurt to call and ask......

Ryan,

Travel agents usually have substantially discounted tickets with tour packages. Shop around.......

....and enjoy da Zoo!!!

I agree the WAP is preferable to the Zoo for the natural setting. Go before the summer heat, it can get plenty hot.

If you haven't visited the SD Zoo, though, it's definitely worth a visit. And the proximity to Balboa Park and Space Theater make it a must-do San Diego attraction. Sea World? Feh...not for me.

San Diego is wonderfully compact, Zoo/Balboa borders on downtown and harbor. Dinner in the Gaslamp, harbor cruise, La Jolla Cove for the green flash. It's got it all.

I wouldn't know where to get tickets on the web. I usually get tickets for things at my credit union at a discount. I don't know if you can do the same.....as far as rooms go I heard the "room" next to the incubator at the Aviary is pretty cheep:D
I've been to both placed numerous times and would probably go with the zoo. I've always liked the attractions a little more there. The WAP is still very good though. It's a lot more spread out and the "safari" ride is pretty neat where it goes through the open part of the park (but not with or within touching distance of the animals). There are good reasons to check out both parks, but if you've been to neither I'd suggest checking out the Zoo first. The wild animal park isn't too far from the Vista area so it IS slightly closer. Both have shows with the animals, if that is a major factor the WOP certainly has the best ones.

here is what my union offers for San Diego attractions. If I can help, let me know.
