Hey guys. I was wondering if anybody familiar with knife laws in New Jersey could clue me in. I will be bringing these knives with me on my trip:

-Spyderco Military
-Spyderco Caly 3 in CF
-Benchmade Griptilian
-Chris Reeve CF Sebenza (Large)
-Victorinox Swisschamp in pouch
-Victorinox Huntsman Lite
-Leatherman Surge

I know this is the "Can't pump your own gas state" and the "no slingshot/BB gun state", so i want to make sure i'm legal before I go. I remember walking into a store called Harry's army navy with my uncle years ago and asked for a slingshot band (being from ct), and the guy looked at me and told me they were illegal. I laughed and joked and again asked him if he could point me in the right direction. My uncle walked over and told me he was being serious... I also decided to get out and pump my own gas and was told that you also can't do that. Are you allowed to pee standing up or is that illegal, lol. But in all seriousness, should i be legal with those knives?

I live right near trenton and i carry whatever i want. Ive carried an xl espada for at least 50 days total. I also own a slingshot and have had airguns or whats refered to as bb guns. Ive carried expandable batons which is a felony here if im not mistaken (diddent know at the time). Dont be a submitizen. That will only lead to more nazi style government oppression in NJ and the problems will only get worse. Nobody owns you, you dont need premission to carry something you own, thats just retarded (and i hate using that word!)

I carry a 4.2 inch bladed gerber icon in jersey for a while, i carry a knife everyday, eskabar buck 110 buck vantage, your fine if you have it but dont wave it around in public.

Yea I live in NJ. All those are fine. I frequently carry the cold steel Recon 1 and AK47. No problems....

Just no balisongs or autos. I would avoid fixed blades as well. Small one's are legal but the cops don't like them very much.

This is good advice on Jersey carry. Also keep a low profile & blend in.I've lived here my whole life(Newark,Elizabeth,Rahway) & never got hassled for an exposed pocket clip or printing.
Trenton isn't exactly a tourist spot.It has quite a bit of gang activity. The cops have bigger things to worry about than what kind of knife you're carrying.

For now you can get away with that in NJ still but nothing would surprise me after living in this state most of my life.

SERIOUSLY---> They just made it the law that you have to SEAT-BELT YOUR DOG while it is in the car. You can not defend your home from an intruder if there is ANY WAY you could escape. We have a 30-day waiting period for handguns. One cannot get a carry permit in NJ unless they are active law enforcement. In some municipalities it is against the law to “frown” at a police officer. In an attempt to “foster kindness” in the citizens of New Jersey, the month of May is designated “Kindness Awareness Month”. If you are convicted of a DWI you are never allowed to have personalized license plates again... I could go on forever.

Anyway your knife choices sound fine. Just smile and don't defend yourself, pump gas, attempt to buy a firearm, or drive without your dog in a seat belt and you will be fine.

Why do I keep thinking of the line from Futurama.

Who would've thought hell would really exist? And that it would be in New Jersey!
Actually...

Yea it really is so sad & pathetic it's funny.I gotta get outa here.:o

O' and I forgot to mention that the Mayor of Trenton was recently arrested by the FBI for bribery and corruption. They actually stormed in to city hall and arrested him in the middle of the day. Lovely town...

Biggest peace of advice i can give after living here all my life is, Dont go whipping it out all over the place regardless of what it is, a 1 inch pen knife or a 15 inch zombie hunter over compensating apocalyptic war sword, cant get in trouble with it if they dont see it.
