I'm having my Shoulder surgery tomorrow, I have a torn labrum. The surgery is supposed to only be 1 hour. The Doctor said it is due to too much Chopping with my knives, only kidding. I think I tore it weighlifting but not 100% sure, all I know is it hurts like hell.
Anyway I'll be back to chopping and posting some pics in a few weeks to a month or when I recover.
Good luck all on the Ganzaa tonight.....here are some new pics of my current collection and favorite users. I do love my DSF's.

Hey good luck tomorrow bro. I work in Physical Therapy, and I have been meaning to make a detailed post on strengthening the shoulder musculature in order to help perfect one's chop as well as prevent injury. A torn labrum is a hell of an injury, so just stick with the exercises and stretches...and in God's name CHECK YOUR POSTURE WHEN LIFTING WEIGHTS!!! I am not speaking of you at all Max, but the amount of ignorance in the gym now a days is sickening. Posture is everything, and 7 out of 10 male patients that we see at our practice are in for shoulder problems due to poor posture.

WOW, sorry for the rant! Good luck tomorrow man, and let us know what exactly the Doc did. Take care brother!

Smoke on the way for a full and speedy recovery!

P.S. Which of those DSFs is the doc gonna use on ya?;):D

Hey Bro, good luck with the surgery, and will be praying for a speedy recovery. Smoke sent as well!!!

Hope the surgery goes quickly and smoothly. Good luck and best wishes sent.

Good luck on the surgery. I am looking into the face of shoulder surgery in the not too distant future myself. Thank God you have AWESOME light choppers (DSSF) for recovery.;)

All the best and prayers for you. Make them use smaller and even sharper knives on you tomorrow. Have a quick recovery and let us know how it goes. All the best.

Hope everything went well...and have those nurses give you the "Good Stuff"

Best wishes for a speedy recovery:thumbup:

Hope the Doc does a good job on ya and wish you a speedy recovery! I'll be under the knife in a few weeks also.
Must be the season for it?

Those DSF's look great!

Hate to dig up an old thread but how did the surgery go? I'm having it done the 28th and am wondering what to look forward to.

I had to laugh at this! When I woke up, a pretty nurse asked if I was in pain in my lower back (Yes!) and then gave me a little something for it thru my IV. She then asked if it helped (No!) and she gave me a little more and then again some more because she "hates wasting good morphine by throwing out half-empty viles".
Then she asked if anything else hurt (Anesthesia Headache!) and then put a little toradol in my IV which made it go away in about 20 seconds.

She asked if anything else hurt. I replied, "my heart because your not married to me!" She was cracking up!

I was quite Comfortably Numb after that!

MAX, I had the same procedure done about 9 years ago. Same thing-lifting weights. It's more extensive that a rotator tear for sure. The anestegia-however you spell that---caused my appendix to flare up the next week so I had to get my appendix removed a week later while I was still recovering:(:(:thumbdn:. It wasn't a fun experience but the guy in the hospital room with me had his legs squooshed like a toothpaste tube in a car accident so I couldn't complain. (he's walking again) My shoulder rehab was tough--you are going to be using a pulley system probably to pull your arm up further and further because it will be very stiff and you will barely be able to lift it a few inches after the surgery. This process will take a few weeks to get to the point where you can lift your arm completely over your head again. Honestly, it's kinda gonna suck but things could be worse. My shoulder is pretty strong now-I'm in the gym everyday and I am able to do everything for chest, back, shoulders, etc. The only thing that I cannot do anymore is barbell squats-I have to do frontal squats instead. Just stay on that rehab and your shoulder will be fine. I wish you the best with your recovery.

oh, he had this a while ago..... MAX should be quite recovered by now... was writing like this was didnt happen yet. Hey MAX, speaking of the GOOD STUFF that Amy was mentioning, did you wake up with the morphine drip inserted in your shoulder? THAT STUFF WAS STRONG--made me throw up.
