I'll be traveling through Washington, Oregon, and into Canada in the upcoming 2 weeks and had a few questions concerning knife carrying. Can I have a folder with a sub 3 inch blade concealed in Washington and Oregon? I know in Canada, any knife must be worn on the belt (correct me if I'm wrong). I looked through the page with all the states' laws on 'em and just want confirmation that it's alright for me to be carrying there, that's all. Thanks for any help you guys can give!

Sarco,I don't know about Washington or Oregon but in Canada I carry my folders in my pocket on the weekends and in a sheath at work during the week. This is out in the West mind you.I have never had a problem.

All knives you carry in Canada must be in plain site by law.
I'm currently (I just looked) in complience of the law, unless you count the multitool.

No problem here in Washington State, as far as I know...As long as you behave yourself.:).

seattle is a 3.5" min must be folder.

outside seattle you can probably carry a FB not too large around 4-5". I doubt you will get any harassment. if you are camping you are allowed to have a FB.

In Oregon switchblades(autos) are legal it is a class 3 state which allows automatic weapons as well. you might want to bring some extra cash with you and or buy a house and live there :D

I hope you drive 101 along the coast, probably the most beautiful drive in our country.

good luck
