I'm getting back in to knife making after taking about 5 years off when I was in the military. Funny thing is that I made one in Iraq with a file and a cutting torch and it was the prettiest knife I've ever made and it had been about 3 years since I even tried to make a knife at that time but someone in customs took it away because it looked like a shank.

Anyway I'm getting back in to doing it again and I'm looking for some good places to buy supplies from I know Texas knife makers and Janet's is still around but is there anyone else? So far I just have a bench grinder with a sanding belt on it and a few files and some cheap metal that I picked up at Rural king to try my hand at.

I should post a photo of one of my knives up here to see what you guys think there not even close to as nice as I've seen some of you guys post but again I'm just starting off again. Thanks

I am new to knife making, and have been looking around for suppliers as well. I found Jantz Supply, which has a great selection and decent prices. first order should be arriving any day now. Sheffield Supply has a big selection as well, but doesn't have online ordering like jantz as far as I can tell. North Coast Knife has some items as well, along with a selection of premade blades.

Thanks a lot more of the names I think I know. There all coming back now. The thing I miss most right now is my drill press. I'm not sure If I can take it away from my father now.
