Has anyone ever used it or any of the other pumice laced soaps for polishing differentially hardened blades?

No, but I've used valve grinding compound in the past when I was just starting. It's a mix of grits, so you really have no control over the finish. It was ineffective in removing deeper scratches.

i tried it once long ago,

didn't work very well at all for me.

No... but works pretty nice after you're done working on your Model-T.
