This knife is looong overdue..,but was a pleasure to make, for my good pal Dudley

Blade: ATS-34 3/16" Thick
Handles: Titanium
Spacers: Titanium
Inserts: Black/Gold CF

Dudley mentioned to me a while back that he really liked a high hollow utility i had made,so i thaught i'd make him one, too. handles are Solid 6AL4V titanium milled and dovetailed for the CF inserts.blade has a 1000 grit handrubbed finish.i got the CF from Tyson Roach..,this is great stuff with no voids. i will be getting more :)

I used PB pivot bushings tuned like a fine watch!! the bali flips just wonderfull!! very smooth, almost zero blade play and handles will never contact the blade!

Dudley, i hope you like it, my friend

I was also asked, what the difference between bushings and bearings are. Bushings are what is used in the tachyon.and (imo) why it is probably the best production bali on the market.

They are generally made from steel,or phosphor bronze. i use a slipfit so the bushing slides in/out of blade easily, but not sloppy.the inner diameter of bushing is a slip fit for pivot pin.

The point is to tune the bushing within .003 of blade,so it is a couple thou thicker then the blade, this way when pivots are tightened, the handles squeeze the bushing and not the handles.so you could never pinch the blade between the handles, nor will there be much play.heres a couple quick pics. to the naked eye, the bushings look flush to blade, but are actually .001 thicker. does this make sense??
