i have a buck knife #2 of 500 made for bass pro shops whats it worth in nearly mint condition? only a little water damage to the paper box?

well, the 501 has 1 fisherman with a fish. i have #444 but the 110 has 2 fishermen in a boat and i have #2 in that one. i thought maybe the low number may make a diference in the worth of the knife.

Kirby,
First of all welcome to the forums! I did some research and we did do a few 110s with a fishing theme. Can you tell me what the certificate of authenticity says? What else can you tell me about knife?

Joe,

Thanks for the welcome. i bought these knives from a salvage store called The Goodie Barn in Flint, Mi. where i worked, in about 1986,i was 19. they came from a Bass Pro Shop in Illinois, if i remember correctly, which had suffered a fire. i think they were designed and made especially for Bass pro. the 110 has what i think is a mahogany, (orangish colored) handle between brass ends. the fishermen and the boat are gold with black scenery in the background. the certificate is signed by Charles T. Buck President, Buck Knives, Inc. it reads- the enclosed model 110 with etched fishermen is one of a limited edition of 500 produced by Buck Knives,Inc.- the fine print reads-blade etch by Aurum Etchings of Garland, Texas- the back of the blade is stamped with the serial # 002/500 and the certificate matches. this knife is my favorite of my low dollar collection of about 200 knives. ive never paid more than $75 for any one knife and as little as a couple of dollars from buddies when i was 6 but i do love them all dearly.

thanks for the help

Kirby

Kirby,
Your description is perfect, but i still can not find the knife in my records. One thing that may help nail it down is the blade stamp. Can you tell me exactly what is stamped on the blade? Not the etching, just the stamp. We'll figure it out eventually!

Take care,

..110..
U.S.A.
except the periods next to the 110 aremore like dots centered on the numbers and the
usa is in smaller print

thanks

Kirby,
This one is really driving me crazy! I know, based on the description you have given, that it a project done by Buck. I can not find a trace of info on it though. The blade stamp suggests an early 80's project but you can not go by the blade stamp on special projects. The blades could have been sitting in the warehouse for 10 years before they got etched and used.
I have not given up yet!

Take care,
