The best I can find is KnifeCenter for $400.

Where is everyone finding this knife so cheap?

Let me know,

How much better is this than the standard Grip?
Is it just a collector?
Could the average Joe tell the difference between the Gold class and the average Grip?

Yeah man, CF handles rather than crappy plastic, M4 steel, and beautiful hardware.

Also, the BM Gold class always has amazing fit and finish.

They are definately two entirely different knives with very different materials. If you gave both knives to any random person they could tell you which is the more expensive of the two. Its really a fantastic knife and awesome for people that like an alternative to the widely used framelock. (Which I love both very much)

Don't forget - you can make it even better. Pick up an M4 Ritter Grip (large size) which has an M4 blade with DLC (diamond like coating). Then do a blade swap and sell the ritter w/ the M4 gold blade - you can just about cover your costs of buying it in the first place. You end up with an even better knife that you can really use without worrying about scratching up the blade coating...

Except the Ritter M4 is sold out so you have to get it on the secondary market where they already cost more even though it took a long time to sell out. I don't like blade coatings but I have a BK1 coated M4 Rift that has seen a lot of use and still looks great. There are some places where it looks like the coating is polished a little and therefore more shiny but it doesn't appear to be wearing off at all. This knife is also my EDC and is in my RFP every single day and is used a lot. I wouldn't worry about the coating much. Plus most people probably won't even use the thing.

I also think knife center has a message that if you call them they will give you a better price on Benchmade knives. However, they are one of the more expensive online stores so somewhere else might give a better price. It has been talked about a lot on here, but knifeworks has a online code that gives you a great price that is essentially the same as before Benchmade started their MAP pricing. I wonder why Benchmade catches so much crap about this but other companies like ZT who also have MAP pricing don't?

I can't decide if I want this or a Small Seb.

Any ideas? Looking for a simple EDC, and I love Carbon Fibre. I really want to try an axis lock.

However, at this price, should I just buy a Sebenza or add a little more used SNG?

Only you can decide what knife you want. Not everyone likes the Sebenza. I personally think it is pretty plain looking and I'm not a huge fan of frame locks or S30V. I would MUCH rather have an AXIS lock and I really like M4 steel. This knife should rival the quality of the Sebenza and for me has better features and steel plus it costs about $130 less. You could buy 2 really nice knives for the same price as a plain Sebenza. Go with what you like the looks of because either knife will be well made and should last a lifetime if you don't abuse it.
