Ok to the guys that own it are they worth it? I know the materials are nice and I love the design but hows the f and f? i want to buy one before the years over but its gonna be my first folder over 100 bucks! I know its not a sebenza but i want one and its not gonna be made after this year so is it worth buying right now?

Are you talking about the Gold class grip?If so they have sold here from about 250-300.

Yeah the gold class! I can get one new for 255 which will be by far the most expensive folder I own with my kershaw g10 tyrade being number 2 at 90 bucks! What I'm wondering id how the f and f stacks up to other production folders?

IMO, it's close to a 10 overall. The materials, design, and particularly the ergonomics are top-drawer. There's a reason why Benchmade has issued such a number of variations on this knife: it kicks ass. But this one kicks the most ass with its carbon fiber handle and M4 steel blade. My only 'issue' with it is worrying about the blade coating wearing off, but it hasn't yet.

I don't own one personally but have played around with my friend's. honestly, for the money, i'd get something else. I have a couple regular full-size griptilians and love them. The gold version is very nice and the f&f is top notch and it should be for its price. its all about personal preference...for me, i'd rather spend a little bit more and get a small sebenza. but, if you like it, thats all that matters.

I had one and liked it. For what I paid, it was about the same price as a regular large grip and aftermarket grips like Wilkins or Cuscadi, but I think it's a better deal with the improved blade steel and better fit and finish. It also has nice bronze coloured hardware that sets off the carbon fiber nicely.

I found it bit large for my EDC (obviously no more than a typical large grip) and I traded it but I think it's a nice choice if that's the kind of knife you are looking for. It completely eliminates the clack the Noryl grip handle makes, if that bothers you. Some people here seem to hate that sound but it's all the same to me. For that price I would give it a shot and you can always sell it and recover most of your money if you don't like it.

I like the looks, though not sure I could part with such an expensive version of that knife. Then again, I did really like the regular large one I had. So YMMV. I think I rather try out a Sebenza to see what the dealio is. Would probably be too afraid to mess up the gold class griptilian anyway.

It's pretty amazing. F&f is perfect on mine, no exaggeration. Thick, 3d carbon fiber slabs, nickel hardware, M4 blade. It's right up there with my Sebbie. When my Cf s90v Para 2 gets here I'll see how they stack up.

I'm waiting on the Benchmade 556 Gold Version (fingers crossed), and even then it's on the large size, for a gentlemen's EDC, around the office.

I moved to a Mini Grip years ago because I didn't like the clack of the full size. I got the Gold Class Grip and, being used to a smaller EDC I quit carrying it after a couple of weeks, although I wouldn't hesitate to if I knew I had a use for a larger blade that day. It is definitely big enough to scare the sheeple.

Now, with all that said, it will probably be one of the last folders I ever part with. I love that thing, even if it is larger than I want for an EDC. I say, if you think you want it, you will be very happy when you get it, especially for the price you quoted (I paid more & I'm still happy).

I've EDC'd one for the better part of a month now and I really like it. Fit and finish is really up there with the best productions. I am one picky mofo and there are a couple minor details that I noticed like the inside of the carbon fiber not finished as nicely as I would like and a couple slightly rough spots on the corners of the scales but thats only if you really look.

I also regularly carry a Sebenza and, in my mind, they are pretty close to the same rank with the CRK getting the slight nod. However this is in the fit and finish department, all the rest is subjective. I actually swapped blades with my M4 Ritter so I have the carbon fiber handles with the DLC stonewashed Ritter blade and I really like the look of that. The only functional issue I have with the knife is that the thumbstuds and axis locks are smoother than a standard BM and can be a little harder to get a good grip on when opening and closing the knife, but not enough to be a deal breaker.

I can't see myself selling mine any time soon...

For $225 I think it is worth it. It is a fine looking knife and you get M4 steel with it. That nickel plated hardware will scratch as soon as you look at it, so don't flip out when you carried it one day and it is scratched to all hell and back, cause it's gonna happen.

Which is the better value; the RSK Mk1 in M4 or the newer Gold Class Grip w/ M4 and CF?

Go for the ultimate Grip:D. Get both swap blades and sell the leftover knife.
I've got about $300 in this one.

Who is selling replacement Griptilian handles these days? Those look like G-10, very nice.

Mine is definitely a keeper. M4 steel blade and CF handle combination is super cool. I got mine brand new and the f & f is second to none. The Axis lock is super smooth, perhaps the best axis lock action I have handled..

The Gold Class Grip is a fantastic knife.

However, mine has only been carried a few times as I generally find myself carrying a smaller knife for day to day use.
My most-carried knives are my 556 Mini Grip in M390 and Mini RSK Mk1s in S30V, M2
High Speed and CPM-M4.
I just wish that there was a 556BK-101 Gold Class Mini Grip!

They are worth it -- fit is great and the CF grip has a much better feel than any other Griptilian I own. M4 steel just makes it even better.
