Gold Membership Payment Question--Did I Make Multiple Payments?

I just payed for Gold Memership with a credit card, but when I used authorizenet, it gave me an error, something like "cannot accept credit card"...anyways, I thought maybe I entered info incorrectly, so I tried it again, like 3 more times with the same results (isn't that the definition of insanity?). How do I know if I succeeded? When I go to "My Settings"-->"Paid Subscriptions", at the top of the page under "Active Subscriptions" it does say "Gold membership"--is this the indicator? And under under my profile-->"Permission Groups", I have a selectable radio button for "Gold Member"--is this an indicator?

If so, then it's all good, but now I'm wondering if I paid multiple times because I tried paying 3 or 4 times on authorizenet--is there any way to check this, other than waiting for it to show up on my monthly statment?

Thanks.

You could check your issuer's website if they have online tracking (or whatever it's called). What date does it list your Gold membership as ending? If it's one year from when you paid, then you may have the extras show up as a hold, but they will be credited back. If it says 3 or 4 years from now, then you just bought a 3 or 4 year Gold membership and you'll have to contact Spark if you want it fixed.

Thanks Kiah, my subscription in my settings says it expires a year from today. I guess I'll have to check my credit card statement. Just kind of unsettling not knowing if authorizenet just charged me $100 for a $25 membership.

If the automated thing only did one year, then you should be fine. My guess is that the other charges will show up as a hold for the next 3 or 4 business days (from your issuer) and then be cleared, so they may not even show up on your statement, and if so it'll just be there as info not something you actually paid. It will reduce your limit by that amount during the hold period though (or count against your balance on a debit card).

Spark will have to give you a definitive answer when he gets on, but I've seen it happen before and that's always been the outcome.
