I bought this membership for tradewater, and I put his name in the "Customer ID" field of the online subscription form.
Will you please credit tradewater with a one-year Gold membership?

Duh. Now that I'm actually reading the instructions (when in doubt...), there it is in black and white:
"If you are a Non-US Customer or are trying to buy someone else a membership you will not be able to use this automated system. Please click here instead, or use our Paypal option."
Sorry about that. I'm so used to re-upping for myself that I didn't even stop to read the fine print. I was also in a hurry when I made the payment.
I'm assuming you've got him covered this time, correct? Next time, I'll get it right.
