I was thinking of upgrading to a Gold Membership but I have a few questians. Is it true you need to apply for one? I was reading some old threads that said that an application was necessary after you pay the $25.00. Thanks for the help.

Huh? Not that I've ever seen. All you do is go to the subscriptions page, and buy one like you would buy anything online.
